The 7th redesign of die kunstbar since 2008
After Arne Quinze (Belgium), Ingo Stein (Cologne), joeressen+kessner (Düsseldorf), Oliver Maichle (Cologne), “Köln50667” (RTL 2) and Chargesheimer (in collaboration with Museum Ludwig, Cologne), it was now Marcus Krips’ turn to redesign die kunstbar from top to bottom. As the bar’s operators, we gave the street artist free rein, and so the former student of Nam June Paik and Michael Buthe locked himself into die kunstbar with more than 200 litres of gloss paint, 80 cans of graffiti spray paint and a gas mask, and put on a true spectacle of colour across walls, ceiling, floor and furniture. Other specials include “our own” beer, Krips Wieß, and the Krips Krawall cocktail.
